What does it look like: The top of the shell of the green turtle is wide, smooth, and brownish-olive in color. The underside of the shell is a yellowish color. The green turtle gets its name from its greenish tone in its skin and meat. They also have un-retractable heads like most sea turtles.
Size and weight: When green sea turtles are born they average around 2in long. Green sea turtles can grow up to 5ft in length and can weigh over 700 lbs.
Special features or characteristics: Cannot retract head, They have the ability to hold their breath for hours at a time.

Does it live in a group: The green turtle does not necessarily live in a group but it only breeds with other green turtles of its kind, so green turtles will live in the same basic area but they do not live together.
